Fundraising News
In December 2007 LeMoyne Owen College* was reaffirmed by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the accrediting body for public and private educational institutions. This was quickly followed by a $200,000 award from the Southern Heritage Foundation.

 


On January 14th Allen University* hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the planned construction of a $16 million dollar Student Residence Center which will house 480 students in new state-of-the-art facilities.


New Clients
When reading about ground breaking health-related research you just may be reading about research conducted by the Kaiser Permanente Department of Research (DOR). Recent studies in the news include the connection between coffee and miscarriages, alcohol and breast cancer and autism risk and parents’ age. With 40 Investigators and over 450 support staff Kaiser’s DOR implements more than 250 research projects in a given year. When it comes to fundraising counsel, they retained Saad & Shaw.

Dr. Tom Crow, Chancellor of the State Center Community College District* in Fresno CA, is the winner of the 2008 Harold Haak Award for Educational Excellence. This award recognizes his outstanding contributions and commitment to a long-term effort to improve achievement levels and skills of young people attending colleges and campuses in Fresno and the surrounding region.

 

 

Ms. Eleanor Boswell-Raine, Associate Publisher of The Globe Newspaper Group will be the recipient of the Entrepreneur Award presented by Oakland/Bay Area Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Eleanor is the daughter of one of the original Great Debaters Hamilton T. Bosell, and co-author of the book "Prayers for Willie:  Pathways for Daily Living."
